Listers Group are currently looking to recruit a Warranty Advisor for our Volkswagen Passenger car warranty Vehicles Division, based at our vehicle hub in Coventry.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, with infrequent Saturday working until lunchtime (typically 3 or 4 a year).

The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective claiming and processing of warranty work.

The role responsibilities will be:

Administration:

  • Ensure all clerical functions within the warranty department are carried out in accordance with company policy.
  • To review warranty reporting systems with the line manager and initiate improvements where necessary.
  • Administer warranty policy in accordance with importer directive.
  • To maintain records of warranty submissions, credits, rejections and contributions towards goodwill claims.
  • Manage recall claim submission.
  • To communicate clerical issues to line manager and repairer in a timely manner.

Communications:

  • To maintain effective liaison with other company employees, specialist repairers and manufacturer’s representatives.
  • To inform relevant dealer personnel of forthcoming recall campaigns and changes to warranty/goodwill procedures.
  • Provide advice to company employees on all warranty related matters.

Operations:

  • To ensure that jobs passed for warranty/goodwill submission are accurately invoiced and costed, and to suggest improvements and corrective action to the respective site where deviations occur.

Cost control:

  • To ensure that all parts replaced under warranty are retained for the correct period of time, correctly labelled and made available to the manufacturer on request.
  • Examine outstanding warranty debts on the weekly and daily reports and implement action to ensure their recovery.
  • To document all warranty, goodwill and recall work as per manufacturer requirements and retailer policy.
  • To ensure the correct submission of warranty/goodwill claims to the Manufacturer as per guidelines.

What we're looking for:

  • This role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked within a dealership as a Warranty Administrator, Warranty Controller or similar.
  • However, although previous exposure to a Warranty Controller/Administrator role is ideal it is not essential as training will be given. More importantly you will have a great understanding of dealership warranty systems and procedures, excellent attention to detail and the ability to deal with all levels of staff and management.
