Internal Audit Investigator

Listers Group is currently recruiting for an Internal Audit Investigator to join our Head Office team based in Stratford-upon-Avon, but you will be required to travel, mainly throughout the Midlands and Lincolnshire areas.

This is a fixed term role of up to 12 months with a view for it to be made permanent, and will support the Group Systems Accountant to implement controls and governance requirements.

Full & part-time hours would be considered for this role as well as some flexible working.

We require an astute, methodical, well organised individual, with strong written & verbal communication skills and excellent investigatory skills.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Help set up & develop the electronic private fuel return system for company vehicles, ensuring Listers comply with HMRC requirements relating to private fuel use and associated records.
  • Manage and develop the audits relating to fuel and vehicle use, investigating and identifying errors, trends, and issues, ensuring compliance is of the highest standard.
  • Report findings and make recommendations for improvements to strengthen controls.
  • Oversee the management of the Company Insurance Database relating to vehicles driven by staff and the associated processes and controls.
  • Development of a member of staff (Internal Audit Administrator).
  • Creation & development of company policies & procedures.
  • Other ad hoc duties/projects deemed necessary.

About you

  • Previous experience of analysing data from various sources, prioritising and actioning anomalies or issues that are discovered.
  • Experience of writing and developing company policies and procedures
  • Experience of working as a key contact and a ‘go-to’ individual in a previous role, taking responsibility and problem solving as required.
  • Highly organised and an ability to stay calm whilst working under pressure managing several issues at the same time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent investigatory and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail to successfully scrutinise data
  • High levels of integrity and ethical standards
  • Working in a small team with an Internal Audit Administrator, you will have the ability to engage with colleagues and management across the Company providing subject matter expertise.
