We are currently recruiting a Systems Accountant to perform administration, support and continuous improvement of the Dealer Management System (DMS) and Group Reporting Systems. Based in Stratford-upon-Avon but will be required to travel, mainly throughout the Midlands and Lincolnshire areas

The successful applicant with be an integral part of the Systems Team (created to ensure the Accounting and DMS systems are developed and maintained to meet the needs of the business in accordance with best practice) .

The role will initially be in the Accounts & Vehicle Administration areas of the business with a view to learning all areas of the system to a minimal level at a later period.

It is an ideal opportunity for someone with systems or accounts experience, although candidates with an analytical mind and a desire to start a career within this type of role will be considered and full training given.

The role reports to the Group Systems Accountant.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and development of both Group DMS & Accounting systems/reporting
  • System set-up and installation of any acquired dealerships
  • Maintenance of systems procedural/training documentation
  • Provide training and support for Head Office and Site staff on the Accounts & Vehicle DMS functions
  • Work closely with Divisional Managers and Head Office accounting staff, ensuring best systems practice and procedures are followed
  • Investigate and correct any systems related issues
  • Carry out monthly site audits (vehicles & accounts) to check procedures are adhered to, reporting the findings to management
  • Other ad hoc duties/projects deemed necessary within the team

What we’re looking for:

  • A self-motivated, confident team player with excellent communication skills
  • Good Excel skills necessary (Visual Basic advantageous)
  • Good understanding of IT
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage/prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • The applicant must hold a valid UK driving licence

Advantageous but not essential:

  • Motor Trade knowledge
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Training experience
  • Understanding of Vehicle Administration
  • Set up or use of DOMO BI or similar
