We’re looking for a senior C#, ASP.NET developer to join and help lead our growing team in Stratford-upon-Avon. Listers Group is one of the UK’s largest family-owned and operated automotive groups. Our award-winning development team is responsible for the online side of the business, where we have aspirations of leading the automotive market in the areas of e-commerce, finance and insurance and online customer service.
We operate a suite of applications and services that help our businesses retain a competitive edge by giving them real-time access to information about the business, the vehicles we sell and the services we operate.
About you:
You’ll be an experienced software developer, specialising in Microsoft technologies and interested in other emerging technologies from other providers, comfortable with being part of a small team of developers and working alongside our web designer to get things done. You’ll have a great understanding of how systems work with each other and how users interact with services. You’ll understand the importance of researching and gathering requirements from users and will use proven techniques and patterns to deliver solid results, being involved in the inception, planning, rollout and on-going maintenance of new and existing projects.
You should:
- Have strong skills in C# and ASP.NET, preferably with some exposure to the Core versions
- Be familiar with Angular, React, Vue or other front-end frameworks
- Have some experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
- Be comfortable with front-end scripting, JavaScript design patterns and frameworks
- Use version control systems on a regular basis and lead their use by example
- Have experience with test-driven development, continuous integration and deployment
- Understand the importance of performance and availability in each layer of the stack
- Be comfortable using agile methodologies throughout development and delivery
- Show a strong desire to learn and grow your skills and knowledge
- Have strong communication skills
- Be able to confidently explain your ideas to the team and to senior management
- Be able to demonstrate your ideas quickly using whiteboards, wireframes and prototypes
As we're always looking to use the right tools for the job, having experience of other technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Heroku, Node.js, Redis, MongoDB amongst others, will be beneficial, though training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate.
Working closely with the Head of New Media and other Developers, you’ll be part of the team that is the driving force behind the online services offered by Listers.
